Areas Of Practice:

Managing Partner Jonathan Brown is a full-time litigator who represents clients in complex commercial litigation and insurance defense matters. He is skilled at resolving all types of disputes according to client outcome goals – through settlement, alternative dispute resolution, litigation or trial.

Jon represents banks, insurance companies, contractors, wholesalers and other corporate clients, handling all aspects of their commercial litigation so they can get back to the business of running their businesses. Jon serves as his clients’ legal partner throughout the life of a matter, and adapts his communications to the needs of each client – he is accessible and responsive same-day, same-week or quarterly, as needed. Jon speaks the languages of the businesses he serves, interpreting complex legal issues in a way that effectively propels the ongoing operations of client companies.

Jon enjoys the competitive nature of commercial litigation. In short, he likes to win his clients’ battles, in whatever venue they prefer. In law school he interned for the Honorable Judge William Hanrahan in the Dane County District Court, giving him a solid foundation in courtroom proceedings and practical experience prior to joining Walentine O’Toole. Jon is licensed to practice in Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota and Wisconsin, saving his clients from needing to obtain local counsel in the region and has experience practicing in the state and federal courts in those jurisdictions including the Nebraska Supreme Court and Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.

A South Omaha native, Jon received his law degree from the University of Wisconsin and his undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from Dana College, where he double-majored in history and English and played football for the Vikings. Jon enjoys backpacking and spending time in the mountains with his wife Nicole and their two children.
