- Board Member, Heartland Family Services (2011 to present)
Partner Raymond Aranza conducted his first solo jury trial three weeks after he passed the Iowa State Bar over 30 years ago, and has continued to litigate on behalf of his clients nearly full-time since then. Two years into his legal career, Raymond was appointed Fremont County (Iowa) Attorney, making him Iowa’s youngest county attorney at that time. He was later elected to that position, where he served until moving to Omaha in 1987 to pursue private practice.
Raymond primarily represents small- to medium-sized employers in civil litigation, including employment discrimination, public employer/employee litigation, labor law, workers’ compensation and general commercial litigation. Raymond has considerable experience with ERISA litigation, and frequently gives presentations on managing employee benefits and other workplace disputes. Raymond prides himself on his creative and tenacious resolution of complex matters, especially regarding the often-multiple issues involved in employment matters. Raymond is skilled at the negotiation process, but is always prepared to represent his clients in court when necessary.
Raymond obtained his law degree from The University of Iowa and his undergraduate degree in public administration from Drake University. Originally from Hamburg, Iowa, Raymond and his wife raised their two sons in Omaha, where he occasionally plays rhythm guitar in a three-lawyer alt-folk band, Twang Daddy.
